Our Team

Ryan

  • Hey Im Ryan! I’m the one responsible for all the creativity and the chaos here at the salon. I’ve been in the hair industry for 25 years. I’m an artist who happens to work with hair.

  • I also love to build things with my hands ( like my hair salon), I love to paint, design, learn and travel. I have spent many years living out side of Canada. Primarily in Central and South America. A big chunk of time being spent in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Latin America is my second home and my heart. Spanish is my second language!

After all this time I’m still in the game, and I still love my job. On May 3 2016, I opened BSH TORONTO. Im still trying to figure out how it all happened. Starting 2022, after 2 years of being in a pandemic, team changes and brand changes, crying, fighting, laughing, lots of great hair moments and the odd oops moment… I have learned a few things. Mostly how much I don’t know.

What I do know, it’s not how you fall down, it’s how you get back up.

Over the last few years I have dedicated my time to working with Davines and Evo. Both of these brands truly represent what it is to me to be a stylist. They truly care about your hair, where and how the products are made. Making sustainability and diversity the main focus. Not the marketing.

I love curls! Wavy, coily, kinky, irregular; curly hair is something I truly enjoy. I believe hair has a texture and not a race. Texture, custom hair colour, corrections, precision/freestyle cutting, and getting the hair back to a good place is kind of my specialty.

If you’re willing to change, I’m wiling to help you rediscover your hair and it’s natural texture.

If not that’s all good. I might not be the professional for you.

I’m the type of stylist to tell you to stop over washing your hair, and to treat your scalp better! Learn to dry brush your hair, put down your hot tools, put the flat iron away, and use the right products! Colour is a main part of my life and job. I love crafting hair colours that work for you and your lifestyle. Colour to me is second nature. It’s all around us. Bring it into your life.

I have been fortunate to have trained and worked with many top brands, and people over my career. Davines, Evo, Allilon, Aveda, Matrix, Sassoon, Kevin Murphy, L’Oréal, Schwarzkopf, GuyTang, Redken, Wella, AlfaParf Milano, Oligo, etc… are some of the brands I have worked with and or taken classes with. The list still seems to keep growing. Through my journey I have worked in many salons and many brands trying to learn as much as I can. now I get to do it all in my own salon.

The 2 main things I have taken away from everyone, is to never loose my passion and always learn.

If this sounds good to you. I’m your person. Let’ s learn together.

Stacey

  • Her passion started early in her career. Hair is another form of art and you can create such beauty with colour.

  • She had worked as a platform stylist, educator and session stylist with numerous brands and companies since moving to Toronto 15  years ago. Working on the hair of musicians and artists, her work has been published in both digital and print magazines.

With an eye for colour, her colour  corrections produce results with accuracy and spectacular results. We are proud to have someone with such a broad range of talents on our team.

Maddie

  • I love working on colour corrections, creative colour and bespoke haircutting. Back in November of 2019 I met Ryan at an Alillon haircutting course and the rest is history.

  • Ryan has been incredibly generous and kind to have me guest at BSH for the last 6 months to grow a small clientele base in Toronto where I not only have the opportunity to work on some new heads of hair but also change up my work environment and work with some other awesome stylists. In Ottawa I have been part of the Jet Black Hair and Studio team for nearly 7 years now. My passion is in education, I love to learn and evolve as an artist and share the craft with others. I originally studied hairdressing at Algonquin College and have continued my professional development ever since with usually 2-3 courses a year. I have trained at the Sassoon Academy twice in London, England and once in Toronto, I worked at NYFW 2020, I taught hairdressing at Algonquin College for 4 years and dabbled in the film industry. When I'm not busy living out my hair artist dream you can find me snowboarding and exploring the mountains of BC and Alberta, cycling, bouldering, doing yoga or adventuring with my puppy.

Hey! I’m Hannah, and you might recognize me from the front desk.

I am one of the two front coordinators at BSH Toronto, as well as the Social Media coordinator. I am in the salon during the week, and I look forward to seeing all of our clients, making coffees, and ensuring everyone has the best experience! I graduated from George Brown College for Graphic Design, and in my spare time I love to hangout with my friends and family, I’m a huge animal lover, and I love music! I can’t wait to see you for your next appointment at BSH. :)

Hi I’m Nicole!

I’m one of two coordinators responsible for almost everything other than your hair. Most days you’ll see me talking to our salon dog (Bubby) as if she’s my niece, because she is. I have a huge passion for animals and all things science. My background is in biology and evolutionary anthropology, some might call me the bone lady. Come get your hair done and let’s talk weird facts together!

Its about seeing the beauty in every person, seeing the individuality and finding a way to emphasize it.

Hi I’m Jane! New to the country but so excited to jump right in and get my hands dirty!

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over 12 years. Being a stylist is my calling - its about doing what you love, what you are passionate about and being dedicated to your craft.

  • I love working with hair but it is the love of colour that holds a special place in my heart.

Being creative, making unique formulas and using different techniques to make everything from conservative colours to complex stains and bright colours is where I thrive.

Woof woof! I’m Bobwa.

Woof woof woof, woof woof. Bark woof woof. Howl howl howl. Woof bark bark bark bark. Bark howl woof!

(Bobwa is our pride and joy at BSH and is here everyday. She gets all the pets and love from clients, and enjoys her walks at the park and her brother Darcy).
