FAQ

Here we have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions, to better serve you and make your booking experience easier here at BSH Toronto.

  • The answer to both questions is this is done as a precaution to avoid last minute cancellations, as well as ‘no shows’. It keeps our clients accountable for the time they book with us. The $1 fee is charged by Square as a booking fee which is separate from BSH Toronto. We do not have access to your card information and this fee does not apply to your services.

  • We require 48 hours notice for all colour appointments and 24 hours for all other appointments. You may be charged up to 100% of the value for the full appointment for any last minute cancellations or no-shows. If we are unable to fill the appointment time, we will reserve the right to charge for lost time and earnings. We understand that things can happen unexpectedly and will always do our best to try and resolve the issues before charging the client.

  • The spot was held for you, and not available to another client. This results in a loss of revenue for our team members, and loss of revenue for the business.

  • Our cut and style includes a full wash, cut, blow dry and style.

  • We require our clients to book online and create a profile to book appointments. We will do our best to accommodate our clients for last minute/emergency bookings.

  • The pricing will reflect the different experience levels and training of each stylist. An apprentice will not be as experienced and may take longer. They may also not be qualified for all services. Each stylist has their own area of expertise. To determine the best fit for you, you can always call the salon, or check out the stylists bios/social media profiles.

  • The $1 charge when booking your appointment is a ‘booking fee’ but acts as a ‘deposit’ when payment is made. A further deposit may be required for colour services at the end of the colour consultation.

  • First time clients to BSH Toronto need to book a colour consultation for all complex lightening or colouring services. A colour consultation is necessary to ensure the quality of service that BSH provides. We need to sit down with you in person to analyze the type/health of your hair. The condition and density needs to be assessed so that the proper amount of time, the right service and care can be given during the actual colour appointment. It’s important that the stylist/client relationship is a good fit as well. We want you to feel comfortable in our chair and make sure you know what to expect.

  • A blowdry is not automatically included with colour services. We have 2 finishing services available to book with colour appointments, a Simple Finish or a Blow Out after Colour. A simple finish is a rough dry of the hair, to see the colour, but it does not include a full dry and style. This is an ideal option for clients who are in a rush or want to style their own hair. A simple finish is no additional charge. A blow out after colour is a full blow dry and style after the service. It is an additional $45.00. We offer both options for the convenience of our clients.

  • We offer the Cezanne Smoothing treatment at BSH. Cezanne is not a straightening treatment, but it will reduce volume by up to 30%, and eliminate frizz for up to 6 months. The less you over wash your hair, the longer the treatment will last.

Cezanne respects the texture of your hair, while making it more manageable for air drying, blow drying, and styling. It uses amino acids to help smooth the cuticle of the hair. It’s very conditioning, and decreases your actual styling time.

We do not offer Keratin treatments.

  • We guarantee our services for cutting and colouring. It’s important a client is using professional hair care from our salon to guarantee colour services. We do not know how other products may affect the colour or condition of your hair.  Should you choose to use other brands (from outside of the salon), our services are not guaranteed.  We stand behind the products Davines and Evo, World Hair & Skin, have all been formulated to respect the condition and integrity of hair/scalp/skin.

  • We carry Davines (from Italy), Evo (from Australia) , and World Hair & Skin (locally made here in Toronto)

  • Avoid wearing bulky clothing such as hoodies, thick sweaters and turtlenecks. If you are coming in for a colour appointment, do not wear collared or nice clothing that you would be devastated to part with.  Although unlikely, there is always a chance of colour staining or damaging your clothing.

  • Unfortunately we do not provide parking for our clients. You can download the GreenP app and park on the street. There is also a parking lot across the street from our salon. BSH Toronto is not responsible for parking or tickets. Make sure you give yourself enough time on the meter.

  • We are centrally located in Toronto’s vibrant +2slgbtqia community, The Church and Wellesley Village. We are located on the east side of Church, just south of Maitland on the second floor (437A Church St). Our entrance is located next to the UPS store. We are very close to the Wellesley TTC station and College TTC station.
